Bikaner is one of the three main destinations in Rajasthan in the Desert circuit and a royal fortified city with a timeless appeal of royal aura. Bikaner is a District in the northwest of the state of Rajasthan in northern India. It is located 330 kilometers (205 miles) northwest of the state capital, Jaipur. It was formerly the capital of the princely state of Bikaner. The city was founded by Rao Bika in 1486 and from its small origins it has developed into the fourth largest city in Rajasthan. Bikaner is well connected by road, rail and air links to the rest of the country.  The Junagarh Fort in Bikaner is the best maintained and provides guides to the visitor which is to be appreciated.
